Computational protein engineering

Computational protein engineering, on demand

There are more computational tools than any company can sensibly evaluate. We know which one answers your question, and we already have the hardware and the pipelines to run it.

Describe your protein problem — we will solve it
A protein structure, rendered as a ribbon diagram

Computational protein engineering now has more tools than any company can sensibly evaluate, and the hard part is no longer running them but knowing which one actually answers your question. ComplexiCom gives biotech teams of any size that capability without the cost of building it.

We bring many years of industrial protein engineering, named inventorship on granted patents for computationally designed proteins, and production pipelines that are already built, tested and cleared for commercial use, running on our own hardware.

Tell us the protein problem: an enzyme that needs to survive process conditions, a chimera that has to fold, a variant that has to express, a binder worth making. We choose the methods that can answer it, run the full ensemble, and return a ranked, evidence-backed shortlist you can take straight to the bench.

What clients come to us for

Three things we are asked for

Protein and enzyme engineering

Stability, expression, specificity, and chimeras that have to fold.

What this involves

Antibody discovery support

Which candidates deserve bench time, and which will fail later for reasons visible now.

What this involves

Applied machine learning for experimental data

Turning spectroscopy, sequencing and assay output into answers you can act on.

What this involves

How we work

We understand your problem, run the analysis it needs, build whatever does not already exist, and deliver results you own outright.

A fixed hourly rate.

No hidden charges. The first conversation is free.

Why ComplexiCom

An industrial track record

Many years of industrial protein engineering, with named inventorship on granted patents for computationally designed proteins.

Tools that already exist

Working pipelines rather than methods invented for your project, and new ones built when your problem needs them.

Infrastructure that is already built

The hardware and the tool stack are ours.

Who you will be working with

Hamed T. Ghomi

ComplexiCom is led by Hamed T. Ghomi, who spent seven years at Illumina designing the enzymes used in its sequencing platform. He is a named inventor on granted patents for computationally designed proteins, and holds a PharmD and two PhDs, from Purdue University in the US and the University of Cambridge in the UK. At ComplexiCom he has helped many clients reach their protein engineering and data analysis goals, working with a team of experienced protein engineers and data scientists. When you send an enquiry, he is the person who reads it, and the whole ComplexiCom team gets engaged.
